About

I'm professional freelance lighting, sound and Set Designer based in Bolton in the North West with over twenty years experience in the industry.

Primarily working in theatre, I have worked drama, musicals, circus, dance, events, comedy, bands, site specific, installations and outdoor events.

Having graduated from The University of Salford with a BA in Media & Performance 2003, I've spent my time since working with shows across the UK & Europe. As well as touring the UK I've had shows tour to Ireland, France, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium, Macedonia, Romania & South Africa

I enjoy close collaboration with other members of a creative team and I like to build relationships with others I work with and have received regular repeat booked from companies. I have a real passion for working on new works and in unusual spaces.

As well as working as a designer, I have toured as a Re-Lighter, LX Number 1, Production Electrician & Technical Stage Manger

Previous work includes The Boy With Tape On His Face which toured both nationally and internationally. This included a West End run at The Duchess theatre and a one off special event at The Palace theatre with over 40 individual performers including dancers, comics, singers and Paul Daniels. Phil also traveled with the show to light an arena show in Cape Town to over 4,500 people
